I am currently recruiting for a Head of Year to support pastoral care in a 14-19 provision in Salford for a full-time role starting as soon as possible.
The role is offered initially on a temporary basis but may become a permanent appointment.
This is a full-time, long-term supply role, paying up to £100 a day.
The Role
Head of Year / Pastoral
Five days a week - 8.00am to 4pm
Pastoral and student welfare support
Supporting on all pastoral matters across the school and ensuring that the school remains an
example of best practice in relation to pastoral care, equality, inclusion and anti-bullying
Ensuring appropriate systems for monitoring pastoral matters are maintained, and
effectively sharing information across staff
Supporting form tutors to maintain standards and excellence in tutoring
Ensuring compliance to all Ofsted guidance relating to pastoral care, attendance,
behaviour and welfare of pupils
Working collaboratively with parents, carers, external agencies such as social services and the wider community on current pastoral issues to ensure excellent care and welfare of pupils
Supporting the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure safeguarding and child protection
Working to ensure that statutory and local safeguarding policies, procedures and
systems are compliant and implemented effectively
Where required, additional duties and responsibilities related to pastoral care and student welfare as designated by the senior leadership team.

To join us and be successful in Head of Year role, you will need to:
- Have a minimum of six months' experience of working with children aged 11 to 16 in a similar pastoral or student welfare role supported by references
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
- Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Bachelor's degree or relevant vocational qualifications
