Head of Technical

• Position: Head of Technical
• Location: Hertford, Herts
• Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
• Contract: Permanent, Monday - Friday, Full-time
• 9am - 5:30pm/ Some flexibility of working hours

Head of Technical:

• Have you got previous management experience working as Head of Technical or similar working within the food sector?
• Do you have a Food related degree or similar?
• Are you HACCP Qualified?
• Do you have strong technical management experience?
• Would you be confident dealing with Internal Quality Management and overall technical operations?
• Have you previously maintained systems for BRC compliance?
• Are you confident ensuring BRC preparation and leading the audit process?

Our client is an independent and highly established, family run business and one of the UK’s market leaders in their specialised field who are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to be based at their Hertford office.

Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for the broad, overall technical operations and customer technical Focus for the company.
• This function includes internal quality management system and external customer technical requirements.
• Technical department is broadly separated in to 2 senior functions where this position concentrates on business development by providing a focused and strategic service to our larger contract customers.
• This position is also responsible for the overall smooth running of the department and setting priorities as demanded by the business.

Key Tasks:

• Customer Technical support: To take a leading role in technical particular for larger customers
• Internal quality Management
• Point of contact and action for all customer requests for all large contract customers
• Customer online systems: Carry out periodic reviews to ensure all online systems are up to date
• Maintain systems for BRC compliance. Take an active role in BRC preparation and lead the actual audit process
• Major Complaints: Own major issues from the outset
• Debit System.

Requirements:

• Higher level qualification in food related field
• HACCP qualification
• Lead auditor qualification
• Previous Technical management experience.
