Head of Procurement - Logistics

Our client is a successful and rapidly growing, innovative business providing technology solutions and an unrivalled range of logistics solutions, together with a commitment to delivering service excellence across a broad range of customers.
As Head of Procurement your primary goal will be to reduce cost of sales across the Logistics supplier base, whilst ensuring a first class customer experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Work with key logistics suppliers to identify and agree ways to maximise a competitive advantage
• Introduce and manage a vendor performance management program
• Identify new logistics partners to enable growth across the UK, Europe & Worldwide
• Develop and maintain strong key supplier relationships
• Successfully manage major contract negotiations
• Identify and deliver solutions for bespoke Cost of Sales procurement requirements
• As an SME customer, negotiate win-win outcomes with larger suppliers

Skills & experience:

• Part or fully CIPS qualified
• Extensive experience as a successful senior procurement professional
• Proven depth and breadth of Logistics procurement experience (ideally including Parcels, Road Freight and Sea Freight)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-moving, pioneering & growth orientated company
• Problem solving - effectively analyse data to identify and problem solve finding the best-fit solution that deliver results
• Proactive, results focused and ambitous with a bias to action
• Flexibility, enthusiasm and relationship building skills
• Must be able to travel to the Head Office in Glasgow
