A challenging role has arisen for an experienced and qualified Head of Pension & Investment Administrator to join a successful independent wealth management firm, based from their Newcatle-under-Lyme office.

As head of the department you will manage the pension & investment team as well as the day-to-day administration of clients. This will include supporting junior members of the team, co-ordinating and planning workloads, and overseeing projects. You will also be responsible for the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks, including all reporting to HMRC, and have the knowledge, and expertise to resolve more complex issues, which will have been escalated.

This is a technical role and a relevant qualification such as the CIIFA2- Pensions Administration module is required, as part of the Fit & Proper assessment under SMCR.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

  • A sound understanding of the operation and application of SIPPs.
  • Good knowledge of the concepts of HMRC rules and practice, and the wider regulatory obligations
  • Ability to process manual calculations relating to contribution tax rebates, and income tax calculations for cross-checking purposes
  • Experience within the Pensions Industry especially with Money Purchase and SIPPs
  • Be able to manage junior members of the Team
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Statements of Principle for Approved Persons
