Head of Inventory Optimisation

Senior Leader who will have responsibility for the development of the strategic vision to support the Group strategy

Accountable for the management and development of the Inventory Optimisation team

Provide optimised Inventory planning systems, solutions, data and processes to enable Inventory management to increase efficiencies

Meet profitable sales growth, service, stock and return on investment

Accountabilities:

  • Develop resource capabilities and talent within team, including Reward and specific development of team of subject matter experts in terms of operational exploitation and development and knowledge of JDA planning system

  • Recognition and personal development planning

  • Responsible for dynamic resource management to ensure prioritisation is given to the most critical products that deliver revenue and customer service

  • Manage the Inventory Optimisation team who have responsibility for identifying and developing Inventory system and process capabilities to drive efficiencies and to meet target service levels, customer service and financial targets

  • Responsible for liaising and supporting the optimisation with inbound operations and production packaging to facilitate efficient and timely processing of inventory deliveries and down-packing to meet customer service requirements

  • Responsible for provision of value add data and insight projections/ scenario planning to all key stakeholders to ensure operational impacts are minimised

  • Work closely with Inventory Management to identify any opportunities for improved cost purchases

  • To drive continuous improvement within the IM team to reduce workload and to ensure processes are effective and labour saving

  • Utilise and create optimisation (scenario modelling) capability within the JDA tool to provide business decision analysis and insight to support sourcing and stocking decisions

  • Create analytical expertise to support inventory performance reporting

  • Active benchmarking of our tools and capabilities against the external market and similar industries and business's

  • To provide appropriate regular and ad-hoc Inventory Optimisation performance analyses and commentaries

Qualifications

  • Proven and extensive experience of JDA planning solution including design, implementation, optimisation and user experience to expert level within other businesses/ industries
  • Proven Leadership experience in a global matrix organisation

  • An innovative change leader and culture and talent champion

  • Understanding and application experience of Inventory Management principles, including Demand Forecasting, Inventory policies and Inventory delivery management.

  • Experience of using continuous improvement methodologies to deliver value and efficiencies

  • Embraces new thinking and drives innovation and proactive development of best practice within team and geographies
