Your new role
The Commission is going through a period of change as we develop our new Strategic Plan and the ways of working we will need to deliver it. The Commission has also recently moved towards hybrid working and our internal communications need to adapt to this way of working. Working with colleagues across the organisation and reporting to the Director of Communications, you will build on and update our corporate internal communications strategy to deliver communications in support of the Commission's new objectives, in line with our values and with an emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion. This is a fixed term contract and will oversee one Internal Communications Manager.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have significant experience of managing internal communications within a complex organisation including management of staff and resources, have significant experience of developing and delivering high-quality communications. Previous experience of planning, delivering and evaluating effective internal communications strategies and plans. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, and ability to develop mutually beneficial relationships. You will be able to lead a team, develop others and think strategically. You will have a track record of delivering results, including evidence of setting and achieving clear and challenging performance goals, evidence of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries to achieve agreed goals, evidence of a proactive approach to generating new ideas, seeing and seizing opportunities and the ability to create and communicate strategic objectives and operational plans
What you'll get in return
You will receive an equivalent salary of £49,000 on a fixed term contract of 6 months, with the possibility of extension, standard holiday entitlement and hybrid working.
