Head of Infrastructure / Security required for a highly technical environment

We are looking for an experienced Head of Cyber Security and Infrastructure professional with significant experience of implementing and overseeing infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Reporting directly to the CTO the role requires both hands-on administrator tasks and to be part of the IT Leadership team to provide strategy and guidance on the IT estate. The role is based in Norwich and is a hands-on technical role where you are required to mentor and lead a small team of IT professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Stay updated on emerging security trends, threats, and best practices to provide a robust security strategy aligned with the business needs
  • Provide infrastructure vision, enable innovation and leverage IT trends that can create business value.
  • Effective provision, support and maintenance of all IT hardware and third-party software, either directly or through service contracts
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of services

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience of mentoring junior staff members
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of working with the relevant technologies:
    • Next-gen firewall technologies
    • Virtualisation of both Server and Desktop environments using VMWare
    • Windows Servers/Desktop operating systems
    • Azure Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Networking (Routers, Switches and Firewalls), VLANs and IP Routing
    • Microsoft Exchange configured as a hybrid with M365
