Head of Organisational Development & Change

  • Salary: £60,000-£70,000pa or £30-£40ph
  • Contract: Full-time – Contract or Temp with the view of going Permanent
  • Location: Kent

My client is seeking a Head of Organisational Development to join our team at a prestigious institution. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, this role is responsible for leading the Learning and Development Team, OD Consultant, Equality Manager, and Athena Swan Advisor. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic and change projects aligned with our institutional plan and people strategy.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the design and delivery of organisational and employee development programmes.
  • Develop and implement talent and succession planning strategies.
  • Diagnose cultural barriers and propose strategies to address these issues.
  • Provide holistic change consulting solutions in consultation with managers.
  • Promote equality in the institution’s culture, policies, and practices.
  • Liaise closely with various departments to meet organisational objectives and facilitate culture change.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CIPD membership with significant post-qualification experience such as MCIPD or a Masters-level qualification in Human Resources Management or Organisational Development.
  • Senior-level experience delivering the OD function within a complex, professional organisation.
  • Proven track record in developing OD policies, programmes, and strategies.
  • Knowledge of Athena SWAN and experience in equality culture change projects.
  • Experience in talent development, succession planning, and competency framework development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, team development through coaching and mentoring, and change consulting skills.
  • Experience in developing supplier specifications and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
