I am recruiting for a newly created Governance Officer role for an award winning and growing law firm based in the City Centre.

In this stand alone role the Governance Officer will be required to implement & provide governance and operational support across the business. The role will be responsible for implementation and oversight of organisation wide governance through the development, communication, and coordination of governance processes. The role will also involve supporting formal committees including meeting scheduling, creation and collation of committee packs, minuting, activity tracking and reporting.

The role will include, but is not limited to:

• Providing support to a range of internal committees and groups including: drafting of agendas, meeting papers and board packs, including the coordination and moderation of content provided by colleagues. Meeting scheduling, document circulation, minute taking. Oversight, follow up and reporting of agreed actions.

• Working in partnership with the SMT and Compliance function, continuing to develop and embed our governance framework. This may include the creation of new governance processes and committees; providing ongoing secretariat support; policy and process enhancements and the creation and maintenance of trackers and reports.

• Building and maintaining accurate, up to date and compliant records and documentation regarding investment pipeline and new opportunities, MNPI, case progression and other internal governance trackers.

• Developing and maintaining a Firm wide governance schedule, including overview of all relevant meetings and dependencies across these, key dates for information submissions and policy reviews.

• Partnering with the SMT, Legal and Operation teams, proactively identify and implement policy, process, and procedures to manage risk across the Firm.

• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, especially those involved in the wider pipeline and governance process and including our owner and funding providers.

• Ad hoc preparation of documentation, correspondence and presentations as required

I am looking for someone that has :

  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement
  • Confident presentation skills
  • Governance / operational / risk management / internal audit experience ideally within a legal and/or regulatory environment • Commercial acumen and experience in a similar role
  • Substantive experience of drafting a wide variety of documents, including board packs, presentations, and meeting papers.
  • Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex information
  • Track record of delivering output to strict deadlines
  • Experience of designing and implementing processes and procedures to manage workflows.

This role offers hybrid working , 3 days office and 2 days remote
