Paying just over £70K, with great flexible working and benefits, this award winning, Manchester based not-for-profit group is recruiting for a new Head of Financial Reporting and Control. This is an exciting time to join as the organisation continues its growth and development. Reporting directly to the CFO, and as a valued member of the Senior Finance Management team, you will be a dynamic leader capable of playing a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of this fabulous and forward-thinking organisation.

THE ROLE

As the Head of Financial Reporting and Control, you will be running the Groups financial accounting function, leading on the production of all statutory and management reporting and accounting. Responsible for balance sheet control and financial risk reporting across the Group, in addition, you will lead on cash management and forecasting, taxation and regulatory compliance for the Group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team, including 5 Direct reports
  • Design and direct month end and year end control procedures for financial reporting.
  • Lead on consolidation of subsidiary accounts
  • Develop the 3-year financial plan model for the balance sheet and cashflow
  • Oversee the Group year-end audit process managing external audit relationships
  • Responsible for the preparation of Group annual consolidated financial statements
  • Lead the planning, co-ordination and timely submission of all regulatory  returns
  • Providing Board level analysis on financial results, and contributing to the board report
  • Preparation of Cash Management & Treasury reporting
  • Drive the cash management process via regular short terms and longer- term forecasts
  • Liaise with tax advisors, ensure the group is compliant with tax statutory requirements 
  • Ensuring optimisation of the VAT group registration
  • Lead the preparation and submission of any corporation tax returns/ quarterly group tax returns
  • Keep up to date on all accounting policies and the relevant Financial Regulations
  • Consistently drive improvements to the financial control environment 

THE PERSON

  • You must be a fully Qualified member of a professional accounting body 
  • A successful track record of leading teams (both qualified and part qualified accountants)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Able to develop close, collaborative relationships with the SMT and ELT
  • Possess the gravitas to act up for the CFO in Financial Reporting and related matters.
  • Proven financial reporting and analytical capabilities
  • A strong technical reporting background alongside a solid understanding of treasury and tax
  • Possessing a proactive, goal orientated, and deadline driven mentality
