Hazardous Waste Assessor

If you have a chemistry-related qualification and a background working as a Technical Assessor or similar, with a good understanding of the hazardous waste industry, then we’d love to hear from you at Grundon. As Hazardous Waste Assessor in asmall and proactive team at our modern head office in Benson, South Oxfordshire, you will use your hazardous waste and chemistry knowledge to provide customer service and sales support to new and existing customers. It's a busy and interesting customer-facing role, and you will join us on a permanent full-time contract, earning a competitive salary plus a host of benefits, including:

What you’ll be doing as Hazardous Waste Assessor

- Carrying out technical assessment of waste enquiries through characterising and applying accurate classification of the waste.

- Assessing incoming enquiries and liaising with customers to ensure that sufficient information is obtained to raise quotations and to enable the generation of the necessary documentation, packing instructions and labels.

- Managing and gathering information on all sales enquiries in a manner that fully satisfies the requirements of pre-acceptance.

- Identifying and assigning cost-effective treatment and processing routes for a variety of hazardous waste streams.

- Providing technical advice and assistance.

What we’re looking for in our Hazardous Waste Assessor

- A chemistry-related qualification (e.g. Environmental Sciences) to HNC level or above is essential.

- A background working as a Technical Assessor or similar with a good understanding of the waste industry.

- Great ability to understand and interpret analytical data and legislation.

- Confident telephone manner and a passion for excellent customer service.

Working hours: 8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week
