Your new role
My client is seeking a talented Indirect Buyer to join their friendly procurement team in Manchester. As a Group Indirect Buyer, you will be responsible for managing indirect procurement spend, with a focus on transport, logistics, and distribution services predominantly. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cost-saving initiatives, streamline processes, and enhance supplier and key stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories, specifically within transport, logistics, and distribution services.
- Conduct market analysis and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value generation.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable T&Cs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement activities with organisational objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to inform procurement strategies and decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in indirect procurement, ideally with a focus on transport, logistics, or distribution.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills (particularly Microsoft Excel, with formulae like VLOOKUPs, SUMIF tec).
- Bi-lingual with English + either French or German
