Our client has an opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their Grounds Maintenance team to maintain empty homes, play areas and block communal sites that they manage to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and prepare gardens and boundaries in empty properties using powered hand tools and ride-on mowers.

  • Carry out play area inspections as per agreed schedule.

  • Maintain communal spaces including removal of any fly-tipping.

  • Maintain all open spaces to the recognised standard using powered hand tools, mowers, chippers and stump grinders.

Their ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant experience and knowledge in all types of grounds maintenance (green space) work.

  • Relevant experience of working with powered hand tools (Brush cutters, hedge cutters, blowers) and ride-on mowers.

  • Holds a Front Loader qualification and NPTC Units NPTC PA1 + PA6, would advantageous.

  • Able to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need for close supervision.

  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to liaise with various audiences.

  • Ability to use a mobile device (mobile phone/tablet) to manage workload, send and receive emails, access apps and MS Teams for meetings / training.

  • Full, current, valid driving licence with B + E Trailer entitlement or equivalent.
