Grid Connection Manager

Perth, Edinburgh or North Wales, some hybrid working
Project developer, working across the UK on solar, storage, and wind projects at utility scale in joint ventures.

Over the last 8 years, this specialist developer has grown to a 40 person wide group, partnered with a sister organisation to provide a quality led service across solar, wind, BESS and co-located sites. Their mission is simple; to deliver sustainable energy projects to contribute towards net-zero for the UK, through bespoke and specialist services.

They work closely with other leading names in the industry, to provide their services in a time-consuming manner by providing land, grid and planning consents in one organisation. They work within joint ventures for this, acting as the development platform. This means you'd get the opportunity to work on a variety of different renewables projects across the whole UK.

Their current portfolio is just shy of 1 GW, across solar, wind and energy storage projects. Their connection portfolio is a combination of transmission and distribution level connection agreements. You'd be managing this as well as expanding on this with new connection agreements. For this, you'd get to work alongside a grid manager as well as a grid engineer to support you, as well as development managers overseeing the projects. There is also an inhouse technical team for you to lean on around the throughout the technical aspects of projects.

The role:
Your main role would be to manage this existing portfolio, as well as to grow this portfolio further. You'll be managing the connection processes, analysing the network for new agreements as well as managing relationships with DNOs and the TSO.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Sourcing and designing new connection offers at both a transmission and distribution level connections
- Managing projects throughout the grid connection process.
- Working closely with JV partners, and other development managers as well as the technical team for these projects.

You will also potentially have the opportunity to lead the grid connection team and function as there is strong progression on offer for this position.

You will also need a background in grid connections and onshore renewables for this position.
