This vacancy will be based in Stockport Manchester with the Graduate Scheme starting in September.
The Graduate Sales Engineer will undertake a twelve-month technical and sales program, rotating across various UK sales divisions whilst actively participating in opportunity creation, solution engineering, proposal development, negotiation, closing, booking, and processing customer orders.

Whilst the role is sales-focused we are typically looking for graduates with an engineering discipline.

The Programme

Our Commercial Graduate Sales Engineer, is part of our UK & Ireland Sales group, where you can expect excellent product, sales & technical training, and the opportunity to learn from some of the best managers and engineers in our industries! Located out of our Stockport office you will partake in a twelve-month rotational programme rotating between our key business areas, such as:

  • Final Control,
  • Measurement & Analytical,
  • Isolation Valves and others.

During this time, you will learn about:

  • The products and services we offer,
  • Collaborate with our sales and technical teams to deliver excellent customer service,
  • Contribute to the business growth, increasing sales opportunities with our customers.

Throughout the program, you will be paired with a mentor from our organisation, as well as a buddy who has previously participated in the Graduate Programme. Their guidance and support will ensure your growth and development. In addition, you will be involved in numerous continuous improvement projects which will allow you the opportunity to build your network whilst gaining additional skills and experiences which all support the ongoing success of our organisation.

You'll actively participate in opportunity creation, solution engineering, proposal development, negotiation, closing, booking, and processing customer orders

Upon completion of the program, you will transition into the role of an Inside Sales Engineer. This role will further nurture your professional growth within our business.

You will be required to live within a commutable distance of our Stockport office (or being willing to relocate).

What We Expect From You:

  • Minimum of 2:2 university degree or equivalent, in STEM disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, to include Mathematics and English Language
  • A genuine interest in STEM disciplines
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK & Ireland and abroad
  • A Valid Full clean driving license is preferred and the use of a car (there will be frequent travel throughout the programme)
  • English fluency to business standard essential Graduate Sales Engineer
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • IT Literacy and experience in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Demonstrate the Emerson Value
