Hays Northern Ireland are delighted to have partnered with a global Facilities Management provider to source an Energy and Sustainable Buildings Officer for their growing Belfast team.

Your new role
This is a permanent job based in Belfast with hybrid working, reporting to the Energy & Sustainability Manager, where you will work across a broad range of our services to support the client delivery team but with key focus on Energy Management, Asset Management and Sustainability.

Energy Management: You will be a key part of the team responsible for the management of all utilities of the Client's Estate including electricity, gas, oil, biomass, renewables, water and waste. You will produce, review and analyse data on the Estate to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved. You will also research new opportunities to reduce energy and resource demand for all facilities.Assisting with the development and operations of the Client's Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) to ensure optimal conditions for the Client's end users. This is a key part of the role to contribute to future energy savings and climate change targets through accurate assessment of energy data. To aid in the process you will become skilled in the use of energy management software and all Microsoft programmes.

Sustainability: Our client has an ambitious Sustainability Strategy for their client's estate and you will support in the delivery of Carbon Reduction Initiatives. This will include measuring and developing carbon reduction recommendations across the built environment, including renewable energy opportunities.You will also play a key role implementing and managing the Client's Environmental Management System and develop and support Circular Economy principles across the Client's Estate.

Asset Management: You will support by contributing to Asset Management Plans that strive for maximum efficiency of energy and resources through lifecycle maintenance activities or new projects. You will assist the Asset Team to ensure Asset information across the Estate is maintained to the required level.

To be eligible for this role you will have:

A degree in a relevant discipline (engineering and energy-related, minimum grade 2:2)

Ambition to continually develop your consultancy and technical skills.

Excellent IT skills, in particular Excel
