Global Mobility Expatriate Manager
Our client, a global corporation is looking to hire a Global Mobility Expatriate Manager to join their London office.
The Global Mobility Expatriate Manager will deliver International Mobility services across Europe & Africa.
Adhering to Global Expat guidelines and mobility policies, corporate processes, and local legislation relating to Immigration and best practice.
Key Responsibilities include;
Global Mobility & Expatriate Services
- Ensure that short term, long term and strategic International Mobility requirements of Europe & Africa are met
- Provide timely and accurate immigration strategic advice and guidance as required
- Work with Regional HR Managers and Talent & Succession Planning Manager to maintain an up-to-date forecast of regional mobility needs
- Keep updated on Brexit and manage its impact on Europe & Africa international mobility policies
- Capture and circulate best practices for the mobility life-cycle
- Support the cascade of mobility and expat policies and procedures to HR / Regional HR and local offices
- Track and report on mobility-related costs monthly
- Supporting HR team with project work and payroll as required
- Manage and support all incoming and outgoing expatriate assignments within Europe & Africa, also including Japanese expats
- Co-ordinate with HR to determine individual transferee packages are fully documented in each mobility agreement and contract
- Calculate cost of living and hardship allowances twice a year, updating packages and payments where needed using Mercer software
- Liaise with host/home countries' HR and HR leadership team
- Draw up secondment contract managing all issues to ensure secondment begins successfully (including liaison with secondee)
- Support arrangements at end of secondment, working with Region HR
Immigration Services
- Ensuring compliance with its duties in the UK as a UKVI licence holder
- Manage the Certificate of Sponsorship process in the UK
- Manage applications for inter-company transfers and Tier 2 (general) visas in the UK
- Ensure that payroll and tax issues are fully managed for each Expat and the company working closely with advisors
- Accurately maintain all immigration administration and records ensuring compliance with immigration legislation
- Ensure adherence to immigration timelines and monitor processing of all new and existing immigration cases/applications
- Review all Immigration information for new starters in the UK and ensure that it is kept updated - NI number, address and contact details
- Support HR to ensure immigration information is reviewed in host country
- Ensure right to work is checked and review right to work evidence for all UK employees
- Manage resident labour market test evidence and all related paperwork
- Submit information as required to UKVI - in particular, information relating to change of migrant's circumstances
- Advise on short term business travellers where necessary
- Liaise with Tax Advisors to ensure correct tax/social charge treatment and complete end of year filing.
- Managing immigration-related costs in EUA, particularly relating to Tax Advisors (Grant Thornton), UKVI and other Government agencies
- Set up, maintain and regularly monitor database of visa expiry dates, producing reports on expiry and potential extensions quarterly
- Provide regular immigration updates focusing on current expats and progress of current applications
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working within Global Mobility, Compensation & Benefits, and/or Immigration is essential
- Knowledge of international mobility, tax and NI/social charges in other countries in Europe and Africa
- Strong knowledge of immigration processes in the UK/EUA, particularly certificate of sponsorship, inter-company transfers and Tier 2 (general) visas
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Experience in using Mercer cost of living indices (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft software packages (particularly Excel and Word)
- Degree level education desirable
