The talent team at NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a global logistics business who are searching for a Global Account Manager to join their team located in the Greater Slough area. The company is highly successful and has built up a presence across the globe, working together with businesses across multiple sectors including aerospace, automotive, high-tech and also medical. They provide a range of logistical and export solutions for their clients and pride themselves on being able to deliver services that can address multiple needs and issues, making them a well-rounded solution.

This is a pivitol role within the business, the with position holder tasked with managing and looking after a key account for the business, building strong working relationships, identifying their needs and providing top tier services for them, ensuring their requirements are met by the business. This will be a dynamic and exciting role for the position holder.

Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Proactively reviewing buy rates each month, ensuring that tariffs are updated to reflect target profit margins, whilst also reviewing the achieved profit margin each month and update the tariff if not achieved
  • Managing costs to maximise profit by liaising with the operations department when needed
  • Accurately identifying customer expectations and financial targets and agree on business plans to deliver these
  • Researching and understanding the oganisational structure of clients, in order to best support them by matching appropriate colleagues to the right people
  • Managing projects for joint improvement and development and supporting joint planning forums where action points and plans can be discussed and defined
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to add value by reviewing costs and processes
  • Updating operating processes as needed
  • Conducting bench marketing for customer related industries for the purpose of best practice


What you will need to Apply:
To be considered for this position, you will need to possess a minimum of several years of experience within a freight or logistics environment as an account manager or similar position, with excellent freight forwarding and warehouse fulfilment knowledge. As well as this, the company are ideally seeking someone with industry experience that relates to the retail side of freight and logistics. Additionally, the company is seeking individuals with good experience in strategic account management and project management. Good communication and IT skills are also necessary, including strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
