Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our local client to provide Gowner’s on a temporary basis to support graduation Ceremonies between the 14th and 19th of April 2023. The shift pattern for this role run’s from 07:30am – 20:30pm.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys face to face interaction with people in a celebratory environment (no experience required). The role is easily accessible via public transport.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in dressing students correctly in their graduation attire, and providing demos if necessary (training will be provided as to how to wear a gown)
  • Searching students up on the system, taking card payments for gowns if they haven't already been paid for
  • Keeping stock topped up throughout the day
  • Picking gown orders to give to graduates
  • Managing the 'gown return point', ensuring that all gowns worn by students are returned and sorted into sizes Helping to move boxes and restock at the end of each day ready for the next morning

The specific date and shift times are as follows;

Set Up Day:

  • Sunday 14th April - 09:30 - 14:30 (Approx.)

Event Days:

  • Monday 15th - 10:30 - 17:00 (Approx.)
  • Tuesday 16th - 07:30 - 17:00 (Approx.)
  • Wednesday 17th - 07:30 - 11:30 (Approx.)
  • Thursday 18th - 07:30 - 17:00 (Approx.)
  • Friday 19th - 07:30 - 20:30 (Pack down times are an extreme approximation and can vary, flexibility required)

Dress Code

All staff are required to attend wearing black, smart clothing. No sweatpants or distressed clothing. Smart, black jeans are acceptable, with suitable, comfortable footwear (not necessarily black, but a suitable colour). No obvious branding emblazoned on clothing.
