Gardener Job - Northwich Cheshire - start ASAP - £27,000+ gpa doe

Our client is looking for an experienced full time Gardener for our privately owned 10 acre estate in Cheshire near Northwich. The person needs to be self motivated with good horticultural knowledge who is capable of working efficiently on their own and as part of a team (working with another full-time Gardener) and comfortable interacting with the property owners and contractors. The estate consists of approx 10 acres of gardens encompassing extensive lawns, herbaceous and shrub borders, walled garden, an orchard, mature trees, wild flower meadows and water features.

Applicants will need experience of day to day maintenance of large gardens. In addition they need knowledge of basic machine maintenance, driving tractors with front loader and grass cutting attachments, good plant knowledge along with an understanding of pest and disease identification and control. They need the ability to plan and organise work, work under own initiative as well as be happy to take direction where given.

The applicant will need to have a full driving licence , good communication skills and be reliable.

Ideal would be for the candidate to also have their Pa1 & Pa6 spraying certificates and RHS Level 2 or equivalent and Chainsaw certification.

Duties will include:

• Lawn maintenance and care
• Knowledge of sound horticultural practices eg maintaining herbaceous borders, shrub pruning, hedge cutting, pest control, lawn care, application of herbicides/pesticides,
• Weeding and chemical spraying
• Hedge trimming
• Lawn care
• Garden and grounds maintenance
• Tractor driving with attachments
• Competence in operation and maintenance of all garden machinery.

Working Week - Monday to Friday - full-time although part-time could also be considered
