Freight Operations Support,
Supervision, mentoring /guidance of our expanding freight forwarding team. The team handles both Export & Import cargoes, primarily to/from African and Middle East markets. The majority of orders are shipped by Seafreight.
Building and maintaining productive relationships with the freight forwarding team, customers, suppliers and other divisions/ departments.
Support and assist Freight Team Leader supervising the freight forwarding team with all aspects of export/import freight operations; from initial booking through all documentation stages to completion and final invoicing. Customer liaison, supplier interaction and inter department co-ordination (Sales, Transport, Accounts, HR)
4. Main duties (brief description)
1. Coordinate with customers and internal departments to ensure all bookings adhere with agreed procedures and payment terms. 2. Place/ oversee placing of bookings with respective carrier(s). 3. Collate required documentation, and ensure accurate and timely submission to carrier, customer, and/or HMRC. 4. Allocation of Customer payments. 5. Review and approve Supplier invoices against quotation(s). 6. Ensure all invoices (per job) are settled before cargo/documents are released / or if Credit Customer, payments are up to date. 7. Mentoring Operations staff, developing their freight forwarding, HMRC skills and building Customer Service Excellence for a multi-cultural customer base. 8. Participate with company, teams (operations, transport, accounts), and Management in the continuous development and improvement of our clients services.
