I am currently working with an engineering business based in Cannock who are a sub-contract sheet metalworking company.  Due to natural progression, they now have a requirement for a Fork Lift Driver to join their existing team.
 
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Fork Lift Driver will be responsible for loading/unloading steel from incoming deliveries, and loading outgoing despatches onto transport.  They willl be communicating with external transport drivers and internal staff within the Goods In/Out Dept.
 
The ideal candidate for the Fork Lift Driver role will have:
  • A good working knowledge of stores and despatch operations.
  • The ability to communicate well with both external customers and internal staff.
  • Gained previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a steel ennvironment.
  • An in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence.
In return the Fork Lift Driver can expect to receive a competitive salary, 33 days flexible holiday entitlement and free onsite parking.  The working hours for this role will be Mon-Thursday 07:30-16:00 (30 Mins break) and Fri 07:30-13:00 (No break), however, a degree of flexibility will be expected if there is the requirement to cover other shifts or to do overtime in order to ensure deliveries are unloaded.
