Football Data Engineer

Therefore we’re looking for somebody from the sports industry or who has a passion for all things football!

With a state of the art office in Newcastle (with free parking of course!) this role is based on a 1-2 weekly on-site requirement. This applies to everybody in the office and the purpose is for engagement and collaboration, which is what makes the high level of cross technical working achievable.

The beauty of both of these requirements for you is the ability to work in an environment who are always on the bleeding edge of technology.

The Role:

As a member of the Data Engineering team, you will collaborate with the architects and analysts in the business to get a vivid understanding of what the client is trying to achieve. You will then explore possible solutions, with the existing environment at the forefront of this. With the team of engineers, you’ll lean on the guidance of the Technology SME (Azure, AWS, GCP) in the team to understand how to proceed. Who knows, you may join or become an SME in your own right for this business.

We’re looking for the below technical skills, but must stress that this list is simply to give an idea and that ever requirement isn’t essential:

• Commercial experience of working in data engineering or business intelligence development role                                                         

• Commercial experience of working with cloud tech (Azure, GCP or AWS)

• Experience of ETL and data implementation

• An understanding of data warehouse and/or data lake principles

• Some modelling experience, or at least knowledge of

• Advanced SQL skills
