GSL Education is excited to partner with a reputable secondary school in York, North Yorkshire, to recruit a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Food Technology Teacher. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic educational environment from September 2024.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Food Technology Teacher who is enthusiastic about inspiring students and promoting a love for food and nutrition. As a Part-Time Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Food Technology lessons to secondary school students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum, catering to the needs and abilities of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and develop their culinary skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Engage with parents/carers and stakeholders to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns or queries.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Specialism in Food Technology or relevant subject area.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for food and nutrition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive learning environment and supporting the holistic development of students.
