gap personnel (operating as an employment agency) are currently recruiting for our esteemed client based on the Deeside Industrial Estate. They're looking for a Food Safety Coordinator to join their team immediately on a permanent basis for the right candidate.

Pay & Hours of Work

  • Monday - Friday

  • £22,000 - £24,000 per annum

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all food materials used and products sold by the business meet all necessary food safety standards

  • To take responsibility and advise accordingly for all micro sampling conducted on site

  • Work with production staff to ensure food safety on site

  • Encourage a quality culture within the factory

  • Assist in the training of staff for food safety

  • Conduct routine micro sampling checks

  • Control and monitor micro performance

  • Advise corrective actions to site if out of spec results are recorded

  • Monitor micro budget

  • Positive release products where applicable

  • Take a key supporting role in the development and implementation of the factory HACCP plan

  • Ensure the production of safe, legal, products in line customer requirements

  • Conduct investigatory micro sampling where necessary

  • Manage the hold product function on the Ross system

  • Actively become involved in food safety / allergen related groups to keep abreast of industry best practices

  • Advise the technical team internally where applicable including approval of raw materials and specification writing

  • Deal direct with customer requests

  • Monitor and control EOL tests and conduct DNA analysis on incoming proteins

Essential Skills

  • Previously worked within a Food Safety position

  • Able to manage a varied workload along with being able to prioritise effectively

  • HACCP & Food Safety trained

  • Vast experience of working within a fast-paced environment
