Job Title - Smoke Ventilation Engineer (Electrically Biased)

Salary/Rate - Competitive

Location - London/Nationwide

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ventilation Engineer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of smoke ventilation systems in various structures. Your expertise will be instrumental in installing, inspecting, and maintaining smoke vent systems to meet stringent safety standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with service team to ensure that systems are maintained according to our planner. Oversee the installation of smoke vents, coordinating with contractors to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications. You will be working Monday through to Fridays and be onsite for standard business hours which will require early starts to get to some sites, occasional overnight stays may be required.

Inspection and Testing:

Conduct comprehensive inspections of existing smoke vent systems.

Perform functional tests to ensure proper operation of smoke vents during both regular and emergency conditions.

Document and report findings, recommending necessary adjustments, repairs, or replacements.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Develop and implement routine maintenance programs for smoke vent systems to prevent malfunctions.

Respond promptly to service requests for smoke vent repairs or replacements.

Collaborate with maintenance teams to integrate smoke vent inspections into preventive maintenance schedules.

Code Compliance:

Stay current with national fire safety codes and regulations related to smoke ventilation.

Ensure that smoke vent systems are in compliance with all relevant standards.

Provide guidance to clients and colleagues on compliance issues related to smoke vent engineering.

Training and Education:

Stay informed about advancements in smoke vent technology and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Ventilation Engineer or a similar role.

knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations, especially those pertaining to smoke ventilation highly desirable.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Certifications in smoke vent systems design and maintenance are highly desirable.

Fault finding experience

Knowledge of electrical circuits within control panels

Working at height experience

Full driving license (max 6 points)
