Fire Officer - inside IR35
My Client, a prestigious Local Authority in South West London, seeks a Fire Officer for their busy Facilities and Property Management department
The main requirement of this role is to ensure that the Council's staff and the general public work in and visit premises which are suitable for purpose particularly with respect to Fire safety. You will provide the highest standard of service in terms of Fire safety whilst providing a proactive service across the estate and buildings.
During the initial period of this role, the client will also decant their two main office locations. The Fire officer role will be integral to the successful planning of the decant, physical moves of over 1,000 employees and dozens of different services to temporary office accommodation, subsequently assisting in the move back to the refurbished and regenerated Town Hall complex.
You will bring a more commercial approach to Fire management within the Council's properties, the objective is to integrate more local business to deliver services across the corporate property portfolio.
You will have a strong understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusion, particularly in relation to the accessibility of buildings and information for our residents and workforce.
The role involves:
Develop a new service model for Fire safety within the Council's properties
Create an operational plan for compliance and improvements in fire safety management in line with the clients vision, with demonstrable improvements in operational effectiveness, statutory and regulatory compliance, and staff satisfaction in our physical locations.
Demonstrate a first hand knowledge of all the Council's facilities within the first 3 months of the appointment by reviewing and updating the current Fire risk assessments.
Assist in creating a confident and knowledgeable in-house team delivering a range of services to the in-house clients and stakeholders that is commended for their proactive, customer-orientated approach in our buildings and creates a pride in working in the council.
Demonstrate the council's compliance against all statutory and regulatory requirements to the highest standards.
Demonstrate your leadership and management skills through a successful approach to staff management.
