Financial Operations Lead – Industry Leading Media Agency

Salary £70,000 – 75,000 + Extensive benefits

Location: Central London

The primary focus of this role is to enhance management information, enabling business leaders to make informed decisions grounded in numerical insights. In this role, you will lead a team of five, undertaking the responsibility of training agency personnel on financial processes, clarifying their roles, and emphasizing the significance of maintaining commercial consistency and contract compliance.

Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all client audits and act as the day-to-day finance liaison for inquiries within the agency. Your collaborative efforts will extend to working with various stakeholders, including client teams, agency finance, and the Shared Financial Services Centre teams, both within the agency and across the broader Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage financial and contract compliance audits, collaborating closely with auditors and internal agency/group teams.
  • Forge strong partnerships with the CFO and the internal Operations team to enhance reporting on commercial finance and key Working Capital KPIs.
  • Conduct thorough reviews to ensure client contractual compliance and pinpoint areas of financial risk.
  • Deliver essential commercial information to stakeholders, spotlighting operating efficiencies and suggesting improvements.
  • Provide operational support to client teams and specialist functions, with a focus on optimizing late billings and unbilled media.
  • Collaborate with Mediaocean to enhance operations in billing-related areas.
  • Work collaboratively with the Shared Financial Service Centre to ensure effective working capital processes and deliver precise management information.
  • Ensure seamless business continuity across all aspects of supplier relationships in coordination with SFSC.
  • Act as an effective Coach/Mentor to team members, delegating responsibilities and fostering professional development.

The Ideal Person:

  • Meticulous attention to detail, a professional demeanour, and a keen willingness to learn.
  • Robust numerical skills.
  • Intermediate or above Excel proficiency.
  • Previous experience with MediaOcean.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Executives to enhance communications within the agency.
  • Work in tandem with key stakeholders such as SFSC, agency management accountants, and other support teams/business units.
  • Follow established processes and guide non-finance staff on adherence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Dedicated, hardworking, and exceptionally organized.
  • Strong numerical acumen, coupled with analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as an integral part of a wider team.
