Financial Controller (Manufacturing) | Roger Bullivant Ltd | Swadlincote | £60,000 + Bonus

Macildowie are pleased to be partnering with Roger Bullivant Ltd - based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, to showcase their latest recruitment campaign within their Finance team.

Recruiting for a hands-on manager level finance role, this will report to CFO and will have company-wide exposure as well as engagement with multi-stakeholders on a day to day basis. The core role is to oversee the manufacturing side of the business (which makes up c£25m of the businesses c£85m turnover), manage part of the finance team (4 people) and the production of financial accounts/reports but also have ownership and ensure the finance systems and processes are robust and scalable.

The Finance team plays an active role in leading and supporting the company in achieving its business objectives and targets by working closely with key stakeholders to drive improvements to operational and financial processes on a day to day basis. Responsibilities include guiding a team of 4 finance staff, supporting the CFO and being a visible presence within the business with a variety of stakeholders, from senior managers, Production director and the teams of engineers. There may be some occasional travel to visit the group (France). This role is an outstanding opportunity for advancement in a rapidly growing, global PLC

  • Manage the comprehensive preparation and oversight of production and manufacturing accounts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout.
  • Compile monthly management accounts, offering valuable insights into financial performance and aiding decision-making processes.
  • Create regular group reports encompassing monthly management accounts, cash reporting, and quarterly statutory consolidation.
  • Collaborate with site teams and the shared service department to analyse monthly costs, enhancing reporting accuracy and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct periodic visits to job sites to gain first-hand insights and facilitate effective financial management.
  • Perform reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, ensuring financial data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare year-end accounts and undertake group consolidation in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage compliance activities, including audit, tax, and statutory returns, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Offer technical accounting guidance as required, navigating UK and international Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to support decision-making and ensure financial compliance.
  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the preparation of financial plans and forecasts, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational growth.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in various ad hoc commercial projects, leveraging financial expertise to drive business success and achieve objectives effectively.

We are supporting Roger Bullivant to recruit in this role based on technical ability, behaviour and personality traits.

Being a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) - this is super essential, with experience working in a Manufacturing setting, strong team management skills, the ability to work to strict PLC reporting deadlines and an advanced level of ability with Excel are all essential criteria.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and systems skills, who has experience of working in a similar role and ideally; experience of Coins accounting package (ideal), experience of embedding robust & scalable accounting/control processes and Manufacturing or engineering sector experience.

Salary in the range of £60,000 + individual health cover, life assurance, pension, non-contractual bonus (up to 15%) and 25 days holiday (+ BH's and 2 days at Xmas)
