Finance Transformation Analyst

Our client in Sedgefield is looking for a qualified accountant to join their team as a Contractor Finance Transformation Analyst on a temporary (6 month) basis. The role is hybrid with candidates being able to work from home for up to 2 days per week, depending on business need.

The role is dedicated to enabling the success of the company's Finance Transformation, which constitutes the foundation of the success of the organisation-wide EP1 digital transformation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Head of Finance throughout the transformation journey

• Quickly understanding the current As-Is landscape and processes within the Finance team

• Gaining an understanding of where Finance processes integrate with wider business processes, such as procurement and timesheets

• Participating in all necessary EP1 Programme meetings

• Representing the Finance function to facilitate formal decision making in a timely manner

• To facilitate test and adoption of the system, assisting the Finance staff to be trained on the system/process and providing them with test scripts to validate that the system is operating as required

• To play a leading role, in conjunction with the external consultants and internal staff, in determining the scope, approach and plan for cut-over, to include the minimum necessary data migration

• To carry out a detailed risk-assessment of the cut-over plan and then to draw up contingency plans to be put in place in the event that the cut-over is not successful or in the event that unsurmountable issues accrue to a non-sustainable level in the period immediately after cut-over

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications

• Qualified accountant, with appropriate finance department experience in businesses with turnover >£50m, ideally within public-funded organisations

• Significant finance transformation experience, having played a significant role in several general ledger (and/or ERP) implementations

• Specific experience of MS Dynamics 365 implementation for a Finance team

• Able to quickly embed themselves within a new team, understanding processes and building relationships of trust
