Finance Manager | Luxury Fashion Scale-up | Manchester (hybrid)

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a Manchester-based luxury fashion brand in their search for an ambitious, driven and commercially-astute Finance Manager. Our client is quickly becoming a household name in their niche, having quadrupled in revenue in the last four years, with a further 20% increase forecasted in 2024 to reach £15m turnover. Despite the acquisition by a larger group whose portfolio consists of recognisable nationwide brands, they still remain Founder-led, with the original leadership team still being incredibly hands-on in the day-to-day running of the business.

They are passionate about ethical practices and environmental sustainability, receiving many accolades for the work they do in reducing their carbon footprint and their overall social impact work. Culturally, they embrace collaboration and creativity, and you will be surrounded by Manchester's most innovative designers, while having the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis.

Supporting both the Group Finance Director, and the Founder directly, you will have the opportunity to take the lead with the delivery of management accounts, while getting significant commercial exposure in the form of working with budgets, forecasts and partnering with teams outside of finance. This role would suit an ambitious individual who is determined to make an impact from day one and advance their skillset with finance in the long-run.

Responsibilities

  • Production of management accountants
  • Cashflow forecasting and management
  • Supporting and managing a Finance Assistant with transactional finance duties
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Conducting cost-benefit analysis
  • Assisting with the annual audit and statutory accounts
  • Monitoring the fixed asset register and depreciation schedule
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintaining core accounting practices
  • Partnering with teams outside of finance, e.g. supply chain
  • Provided support to Board-level with strategic financial decisions

Essential criteria

  • Highly proficient with producing management accounts
  • Exposure to finance in a retail/ecommerce environment (fashion, cosmetics, luxury goods, food and beverage, etc)
  • Actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Commercial acumen
  • Keen interest in luxury fashion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working in an SME in a close-knit team

Salary: £45,000 to £50,000

Location: Manchester (2/3 days in the office)

Start date: ASAP
