A high growth Retail business that I'm delighted to be partnered with are looking to add a Finance Assistant to their growing finance function in Tameside.

In this varied and fast paced Finance Assistant role, you will be reporting into a Transactional manager and covering duties that support both the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger.

Your duties in this role will include...

  • Payment Processing: Handle cash, cheques, BACS, and credit card payments, accurately recording them in our accounting system.
  • Cash Management: Maintain the cash float, including ordering change from Loomis as needed.
  • Credit Notes and Receipts: Allocate credit notes and cash receipts promptly to customer accounts.
  • Document Management: Scan and electronically file finance documents within our ADM system.
  • Transport Run Sheets: Maintain and reconcile daily transport run sheets.
  • Trade Counter Support: Assist with trade counter paperwork.
  • Incoming Calls: Manage the accounts inbox, handling incoming calls related to financial matters.
  • Supplier Invoices: Match, batch, and resolve queries related to supplier invoices, including coding.
  • Purchase Inbox: Manage the purchase inbox efficiently.
  • Banking and Reconciliation: Perform daily banking activities and reconcile accounts.
  • Expense Claims: Check and process employee expense claims.
  • Supplier Statements: Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Supplier Account Maintenance: Set up and update supplier accounts.
  • Supplier Payments: Prepare and process supplier payments in accordance with our approval policy.
  • Petty Cash: Manage petty cash funds.
  • Rebate Credits: Post monthly rebate credits.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Be prepared to handle additional duties as required.

To be considered for this position, you must have...

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in a similar position
  • A detail orientated approach to administrative tasks
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
