A Finance Assistant is required for a public sector organisation. The successful applicant will be a vital part of the Accounting & Finance team, offering support across various financial functions.

Description

  • Manage purchase orders, commitments, and accruals to ensure that they are being actioned promptly and appropriately
  • To monitor budget allocations, specifically in relation to account payable and receivables that are shown on the finance system.
  • Assisting with the processing of invoices and expense claims
  • Maintaining the purchase order system
  • Carrying out bank reconciliations
  • Resolving financial queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with the annual audit process

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and excel (pivot tables, v look ups, common formula)
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Good organisational abilities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Previous experience of working with Accounts Payable and dealing with data and numbers
