Your New Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technology Field Engineer to join our Area 7 contract. This role is based within the East Midlands area over 5 days Monday to friday and the main depot will be based at Watford gap M1 Northbound Motorway Maintenance Compound, Northampton, NN6 7UZ and Travel to other depots may be required and a company car is provided.

Collaborating closely with our client National Highways, Amey takes pride in delivering top-tier Maintenance and Response services, catering to the extensive network across Yorkshire and Humberside. Our responsibilities encompass all routine and cyclic maintenance operations on the trunk roads and motorways, covering an impressive expanse that includes 1,650km of motorway, 476km of dual carriageway trunk roads, 179km of single carriageway trunk roads, and 1,963 structures.

The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week on a hybrid basis. Occasional night shifts and weekend working will also be required.

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out cyclic and reactive maintenance to highways communications infrastructure.
• Providing support and assistance to the team in all relevant projects to meet client and Amey objectives.
• Carrying out cyclic maintenance in line with the Client, manufacturer and British Standards.
• Undertaking electronic diagnostic checks on highways communications assets in line with reactive maintenance
• Preparation of reports and documents as necessary
• Providing accurate advice to relevant parties on procedures
• Attending meetings
• Assisting with project administration and control
• Coordinating with third parties with the introduction of new Highways communications infrastructure

We want to hear from you if you have:

• A full UK driving licence

• A relevant qualification in an electrical or engineering discipline
• 18th Edition wiring regulations
• Good planning and organisation skills
• Technical competence
• Self-motivated and proactive in delivering solutions
• IT literate
• Good communication skills at all levels
