Female Children Support Worker - Surrey Quays

Pulse Community Healthcare has a rewarding opportunity for a support worker to join our team in supporting our young male client with physical disabilities. Our client enjoys interacting with people and gaining more knowledge. A support worker with a positive attitude would be preferred to encourage independence in the home and community.

Support workers would be expected to provide personal care, manage clinical interventions and assist client in his interests and hobbies. Specialist training will be offered to the successful support worker covering areas such as respiratory, allowing you to effectively meet the care needs of the client.

This role is offering shifts of 10pm to 7am Sunday to Friday and is offering a pay rate of £10.02 per hour.

As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care
  • Behaviour management
  • Managing clinical interventions - tracheostomy care, suction, ventilation
  • Assisting with hobbies and interests
  • Encouraging independence in the home and community.

The ideal support worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of professional boundaries
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
