Job Title: FE/HE Lecturer in Construction

Pay rate: £23,797 and £35,909

Starting immediately, the college are looking for an outstanding to join them on a permanent basis.

The College:
Our Clients recent Ofsted inspection which has declared the college as “Good” in every single category including: Student Outcomes (results and standards of work); Teaching and Learning; Leadership and Management; and Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare. Inspectors also looked separately at Apprenticeship provision courses for Adults, and Study Programmes for the 4,000 full time 16-19-year-old students at the College, and stated that all of these were also “Good”.

To teach a range of further education and higher education subjects associated with construction technology, CAD, building surveying, building regulations and other construction related areas from BTEC L3 Diploma to HND Construction Management within the Professional and Technical provision.
- To prepare teaching/learning materials
- To conduct teaching/learning activities appropriate to the needs of individual students, courses and the curriculum, keeping attendance records and maintaining student discipline
- To set, mark and record relevant coursework and assessments
- To counsel and guide students in respect of their academic progress and, as appropriate, their pastoral concerns and needs, making referrals to specialist services as appropriate and contributing to student reports and references as required
- To maintain, at all times, high expectations of learners work, commitment and behaviour, taking action to ensure that the highest standards are met
- To continuously evaluate and improve the quality of learning and teaching within your sessions, utilising and engaging with the college's development and observation programmes
- To actively promote the Institute's programmes, attend open evenings, parents evenings, careers events, school visits and similar marketing and publicity events
- To actively promote equality and diversity and apply the college's E&D policy

- GCSEs in English and Maths at level 9-4 or equivalent
- An HND or equivalent level 5 qualification in a construction related subject
- Willingness to undertake relevant teaching qualifications
- An A1 Assessor Award or equivalnt, C&G 730, or PGCE/Cert would be desirable
- Recent construction related experience in either a site or office based environment with the understanding of the skills required in the teaching and professional courses OR recent experience in education linked to construction technician and professional courses
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD and BIM techniques
- Good time management skills
- Ability to enthuse and motivate students
