In plain English, Facilities Management (FM) is all about looking after your buildings and people. There are many disciplines and services that fall under the umbrella of FM, but what they all have in common is that they are essential to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the business.
We offer advanced level apprenticeships which last up to two years, with apprentices studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.
In your role as a facilities apprentice your duties will include: assisting in the front of house, processing post, resolving helpdesk tickets and becoming familiar with both building services and fabric for maintenance programmes.
You could also be asked to support with risk assessments and keeping health and safety documentation up to date. Additionally you will provide support with internal projects such as any offices moves or major works.
To be successful you must demonstrate good customer service skills when dealing with each individual in an efficient and empathetic manner - dealing with all matters fairly and sensitively. You will also be able demonstrate some critical thinking skills and be open to learning and development
An apprenticeship within the FM department offers a varied role providing ample opportunities to develop an array of useful and transferrable skills or experiences. These may serve you well if you plan to move into other parts of the business or pursue a career within the Industry.
