Events Marketing Executive

These Awards have enjoyed significant growth since their move to the company in 2009.

We are now looking to appoint an experienced Marketing Executive to help continue drive this growth and to help us to achieve our exciting but ambitious plans for the future.

The Quality Food Awards portfolio has developed rapidly in recent years and now includes 9 awards and a website.

We are looking for an experienced marketing executive to lead, fully manage and implement the marketing strategy and all marketing/promotional campaigns for the awards. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter who wants to make their mark in a dynamic environment on a nationally-recognised brand.


  • To write, implement and manage promotional copy for all e-mails, brochures, letters, leaflets, adverts, online and media packs to agreed deadlines/budgets and to measure effectiveness
  • Take ownership of the social media channels and regular postings ensuring that Social Media competition prizes are sourced and delivered to winners
  • To assist in growing entries and table sales by maintaining close liaison with key companies

  • To form beneficial partnerships with relevant organisations to develop the brand reach and to drive entries
  • To carry out digital marketing campaigns/ Google Adwords to drive entries across the numerous brands
  • To work with the Web Editor to write press releases and to keep press lists as necessary to expand future audience potential
  • Reporting of Social Media and web traffic, entries and followers each month
  • To grow all of the current QFA databases and identify new sources of data for future growth
  • Investigate the viability of purchasing lists where appropriate
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions to generate new leads and contacts for databasing
  • Weekly reporting of key stats and marketing campaigns to QFA team
  • Be on site to help The QFA team at every event
  • Ensure all QFA data follows the guidelines for GDPR and the internal Metropolis Magic system
  • To design and analyse questionnaires and other similar material for research purposes and report back to the team, making suggestions for the future
  • To ensure an excellent level of communication and understanding exists with both internal customers and external customers and suppliers
  • Manage print estimates and expenditure of costs for marketing brochures, promotional letters/mailers, stand marketing collateral and other ad hoc materials
  • To ensure that all work undertaken is completed to a deadline and to the high standards expected and within budget
  • To identify and keep up to date with the latest marketing ideas and trends, making recommendations of implementation for the marketing team
  • To act as a brand guardian - protecting the trademarked logo and ensuring branding guidelines are being implemented across the industry
  • Any other ad hoc duties as requested

Competencies and Personal Specifications:

  • Event Marketing, digital marketing and social media experience is highly desirable
  • Exceptional copywriting and communication skills are vital in this role
  • Experience using Google Analytics and Social Media analytic tools is highly desirable
  • Ability to prioritise workload accordingly and work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on numerous campaigns simultaneously
  • Strong organisational skills are essential in this role
  • The role requires a good team player and staff motivator who can work well under pressure
  • The ability to accurately interpret statistics and suggest ideas for improvement
  • The ability to work well to tight deadlines in a hands on environment
  • The ability to build strong working relationships, both internally and externally with clients
  • The ability to accurately interpret, marketing and circulation requirements is also crucial as is the need for him/her to be a strategic thinker
  • Ongoing in-depth analysis of results and regular attention to improving the team results and performance
