Role

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Event Staff at the Tour of Cambridgeshire in Peterborough. Our client delivers traffic management solutions and event admission control services to some of the UK’s most prestigious events.

This role will be on the 3rd of June 2018 with the shift time to be confirmed closer to the date.

There will be free transport provided from the University of Warwick campus. If you are not travelling from the University of Warwick Campus you will need to provide your own transport. There will be camping facilities at the event to stay there the night before if needed.

Duties and responsibilities

You will either be part of the Traffic Marshall team or Cashier team.

Traffic Marshall:
• Directing, routing and managing traffic flows using the correct hand signals and procedures
• Allowing site personnel to safely traverse site crossings
• Ensuring that no unauthorized vehicles drives/parks anywhere other than where you have been instructed to direct them
• Ensuring that any emergency vehicles have/are given clear access through the car parks and surrounding areas should they need to do so
• Acting as a point of contact for members of the public
• Working with other contractors and organisations

Cashier:
• Acting as a point of contact for members of the public
• Advising on customer enquiries
• Ensuring that attendants are met at the gates and issued with tickets/ wrist bands
• Handling money and cash floats

Skills and experience

• Staff should possess a reasonable level of physical fitness as you will be on your feet for extended periods outdoors
• Willingness to work unsociable hours
• Good verbal communication skills
• The ability to work under pressure
• You will be required to bring your own; food, water, sun cream etc
• If camping you will need to bring your own camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, etc)

An eligibility check will need to be undertaken if not already recently completed through the University of Warwick Unitemps branch. An eligibility check with a different Unitemps branch cannot be used.
