My client is a leading global freight forwarder and they are looking to appoint a Branch Manager- Landfreight for their office based in Bradford.

The postholder will control and maintain the branch, leading and managing teams to achieve a well-organised, cost-effective environment in which the movement of vehicles and goods is safe, secure and company profit targets are achieved

ROLE: Branch Manager - Landfreight

LOCATION: Bradford, Yorkshire

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To achieve targeted profitability through improvements to vehicle throughput and the safe and careful handling and storage of customer goods
  • To ensure the Branch operates within financial, quality and workforce plans, as well as minimizing loss and damage in every area of the operation
  • To ensure all colleagues are focused on providing the highest standards of customer service
  • To establish KPIs and /or performance targets for the Branch, continually reviewing and taking action on underperformance
  • To plan and organize the Branch operations and resources to ensure the movement of goods is safe and efficient
  • To ensure the housekeeping standards within the Branch are maintained to a high standard and reflect a professionally managed and organized Branch
  • Ensure compliance with all administration and reporting requirements of the business
  • Through effective scheduling, ensure the Branch shift systems meet the operational needs of the Branch in a cost-effective manner
  • Through effective communication, ensure all Branch staff are updated on Branch performance and issues and have the opportunity to comment.
  • Provide support to the Sales function in respect of managing customer service expectations and the opening of new accounts
  • To build ongoing positive and cost effective relationships with suppliers
  • Monitor and review Branch operations in order to assess the effectiveness of current operations and identify opportunities for improvement/development
  • To ensure all Branch staff and visitors are aware of and comply with all Health and Safety requirements to minimize risk to themselves and others and to provide a safe working environment
  • To lead or actively input into Cluster projects as required.
  • Personal involvement with customers creating positive ongoing relationships
  • Ensure all queries and complaints are investigated and responded to promptly
  • Develop appropriate relationships with product management and overseas offices to ensure customer service requirements are met
  • Ensure general administration for the contracts, customer and supplier activity is completed to highest level of standards, accuracy and compliance
  • To comply with all internal and professional standards
  • Maintain GDPR standards as required throughout the branch
  • Ensure that all Branch colleagues receive appropriate training and development to allow them to perform their individual role responsibilities
  • Effective recruitment and leadership of operational and administration teams to the company values and industry compliance requirements
  • Ensure objectives, personal and career development plans are in place for all staff
  • Develop a culture of ownership and continual improvement, encouraging input from the whole team
  • Wellbeing and safety or all onsite
  • P&L Management
  • Delivery of Budget targets
