Purpose of the Role

Lakeside Shopping are now seeking to recruit an Environmental Services Team Leader who will lead and manage shift cleaning teams who carry out environmental duties to front, back and external areas of the shopping centre.

This position is based on 40 hours per week, 4 on, 4 off rolling pattern.

To be successful in this role suitable candidates will be able organise, lead, motivate and manage shift cleaning teams to provide an exemplary standard of cleaning to our facilities including: mall areas, customer rest rooms, waste and car parking facilities. Candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to support operational management in the management of shift rotas, staff development, training, stock and materials management and ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with compliance to health and safety and auditory bodies. In addition, candidates will be customer focused and flexible with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Head of Department and performs management duties when manager is absent or out of office
  • Manages inventories and stock, keeping detailed records of inventory use and advising management on ordering where necessary
  • Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skills
  • Assists management with hiring processes and new team member training
  • Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance
  • Conducts team briefings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations
  • Ensures exceptional cleaning standards across the centre are met daily

Provides quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints
