We are currently recruiting for a full time English Teacher - Second in English to join the team in September. This position is a permanent position however could consider a contracted teacher for a set period of time.
The role is to cover key stage 3 -5 with experience teaching at all these levels.

The school is a diverse and welcoming school, where the focus is on working as a team to ensure all students obtain the best whilst the staff enjoy what they do with the right balance of workload and flexibility in approach to teaching.

This role requires the successful candidate to:

Teach the key stage 3-5 following the UK curriculum
Play an important role in the future development of Science in the school
Have an understanding of effective strategies to improve the quality of teaching and learning, behaviour and student outcomes in Science
Have the ability to analyse data and produce strategies for improvement in Science
Work closely with Science staff and the Director of Science to raise standards across Science

Qualified Teacher Status or experience as a English Teacher (E)

Knowledge and Experience Understanding and knowledge of:
 The National Curriculum for English (E)
 Current GCSE specifications for English Language and English Literature (E)
 A-Level English Language and English Literature (D)
 Strategies for raising student achievement and attainment through effective
teaching and learning (E)
 ICT and how it can impact on students’ learning (D)
 Current methodology in the teaching of English Language and Literature (E)
Successful Experience:
 Successful outcomes for students at KS3 and KS4 (E)
 In the classroom – student/classroom management skills (E)
 The ability to deliver consistently good or better lessons (E)
 Understanding the importance of quality written feedback to students (E)
 The use of assessment data to identify underachievement and plan teaching
and learning (E)
