English Lead Practicioner

A well-run secondary School in St Albans, Hertfordshire is looking to appoint an engaging and accomplished Lead Practitioner of English to join their team in September 2024. In this role, you will have the chance to inspire learning, support the Head of Department in raising teaching standards, and monitor student progress in a culture of excellence and innovation. This is a great post for those with HOD or SLT in mind.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach science across Key Stages 3 and some 4
-
Lead and inspire learning
-
Plan, build and asses lessons and mark work
-
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Ensure the science department meets academic standards and targets
Qualifications and Requirements:
-
Engaging and professional personality with English Teaching experience across key stages 3, 4, and/or 5
-
Ideally, 2+ years of experience as a English Teacher

Good management skills and the ability to inspire pupils from all backgrounds and ability levels
-
Passion for teaching and the commitment to student success
-
Experience within curriculum development and assessment writing is an advantage
-
Willingness to be an active and positive member of the whole school community is advantageous
