Engineering Manager, Java, AWS

• Location: Hybrid - London / 2 Days Per Week
• Duration: 6 months + Intention to extend
• Day rate: Up to £750 - Inside IR35
• Start date: ASAP

We're seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing backend engineering team delivering large-scale cloud-based platforms and services.

Working within a modern Agile environment, you'll combine strong technical leadership with delivery excellence, driving the development of secure, scalable and resilient solutions while supporting and mentoring engineers to reach their full potential.

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers.
• Drive Agile delivery across multiple workstreams.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture and business stakeholders.
• Own prioritisation, capacity planning and delivery outcomes.
• Champion engineering best practices, CI/CD and continuous improvement.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and operationally robust.

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong software development background.
• AWS, Java and/or TypeScript.
• Microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• CI/CD, TDD/BDD and Agile delivery methodologies.
