Summary:
We?re working with an industry leader in battery storage systems who are looking to grow their Trading and Analytics team with an Energy Market Analyst. You?ll be working with grid-scale battery storage assets which are vital both for grid stability and accelerating the net-zero energy transition. You?ll be joining the Trading and Analytics Team where you?ll collaborate with seasoned traders and energy market analysts, leveraging their expertise to optimise trading strategies. Your role will be primarily focused on producing market analysis to help the Trading team stay one step ahead of competitors. You?ll receive detailed feedback and extensive training to fuel your personal growth and help you make big improvements to our team?s performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse UK energy markets related to battery storage assets to enhance trading performance
- Optimise trading strategies for daily services auctions for our battery storage capacity and the wholesale electricity market
- Build up extensive knowledge of the GB power market and National Grid balancing services and share findings within the team
- Contribute to developing in-house trading software, including forecasting techniques and market visualisations
- Track competitors' activities to assess their impact on our company's position and strategy
Key skills and experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, Economics, Data Science or a similar field
- Experience in an Analyst role, with a track record of analysing data, extracting meaningful insights and effectively communicating this to diverse audiences
- Motivated to develop expertise in the energy markets inc. electricity pricing, hedging, and risk management strategies
- Proficiency in data and statistical analysis tools such as spreadsheets, databases and/or Python
