£26,000- £28,000p.a. depending on experience
Fixed Term Contract to end of November 2024

The Company:
ER Recruitment is proud to be working with our client, a well-known business support organisation based in the East Midlands who are looking for an Employment Support Specialist to join their Employment Services department, where you will play a key role in helping people with health and wellbeing barriers find, enter and sustain paid work.

Role & Responsibilities of the Employment Support Specialist:

  • Carry out initial engagement activity within contract timescales and ensuring each new participant is sign-posted to appropriate support.
  • Liaise with referral partners to ensure a warm handover and positive on-boarding of participants.
  • Conduct timely in work support calls or visits, providing ongoing IAG and signposting for participants and businesses to ensure roles are sustainable.
  • Create and maintain in-work action plans, acting as an intermediary for external support partners, businesses, and participants to ensure a quality of service reflected in the action plan.
  • Facilitate learning and development solutions with external partners.
  • Facilitate support interventions from primary care and/or VCS partners.
  • Keep an up-to-date record of outcomes and use MI systems to produce weekly performance data for managers to accurately forecast performance.
  • Deal with enquiries from participants and businesses regarding service offer, making effective internal referrals as appropriate.
  • Call employers to gain information on recruitment needs to support programme delivery.
  • Track participant progress during and after programme end for cross-referral purposes.
  • Ensuring all Job start and job outcome information is recorded correctly.
  • Assist with events, exhibitions and open days as and when required.
  • Support the department administratively where required including drafting correspondence, producing reports and data, taking minutes, scanning, filing etc.
  • Provide office cover as and when needed to support the safe and effective running of the building.


About You as the Employment Specialist:

  • Full UK Drivers licence is essential.
  • Experience/understanding of working with people who have physical and mental health conditions
  • IAG awareness training
  • A can-do, upbeat and energetic attitude.
  • Excellent local knowledge of support services and employment opportunities.
  • Able to show compassion and build rapport with participants.
  • Passionate about helping people to achieve their potential.
  • Be dependable, reliable, trustworthy and capable of exercising diplomacy.
