Employee Relations ER Advisor

Permanent

Redditch

Hybrid – 2 days office working

Up to £32,000 + bonus + perks

Looking to make a break into a household name and gain experience that will give your CV and career prospects a lift? This role can offer just that, a hybrid working environment and opportunities to progress through the business in several ways. If you’re bright and ambitious you’ll be joining at a great time – you have a new HR leadership team to impress and will be getting on board at just the right time to see them take the function through a period of evolution.

Reporting to the ER Manager, you will join an established team of ER Advisors and support colleagues and managers across a number of disciplines and business operations. You’ll deliver a high level of customer service in an advisory capacity but will also work with the ER Manager to review best working practices, policies, processes and support the business and wider HR team in identifying proactive opportunities to raise standards across the business. This may see you contributing to new training, supporting employee engagement activities or collaborating with the Business Partnering team or centres of excellence.

As for the case management and advisory – this is a diverse business; you could at any point be supporting colleagues across retail sales, supply chain, head office or technical. As such, you’ll not be repeating the same advice and taking queries on the same policies and will need to be able to think quickly and responsibly to ensure you are accurate and relevant in your recommendations. You will handle a breadth of cases covering capability, absence, disciplinary, as well as queries in relation to changes to terms and conditions, flexible working and on policies such as maternity and paternity. If you’re not already an ER whizz, you will be once you’ve had your feet under the table a while here and you’ll build your reputation quickest by being pragmatic and commercially astute.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll be an HR Advisor looking to expand or build upon foundational ER experience, an ER Advisor in a similar environment looking for a change to a more diverse business or an HR/ER Assistant with low volume case management experience looking for your next step. You’ll be joining an established team who know their stuff so you’ll not be afraid of working collaboratively and will have strong attention to detail. CIPD or other employment law qualifications, naturally, will give you an advantage in this role so they are preferable. Being able to work in a confidential environment, abiding GDPR regulations and having a diplomatic but confident communication style are essential – but given the role, that’s hardly a surprise is it?

Good salary, bonus, good annual leave, nice hybrid working arrangement, perks like retail discounts and cycle to work – there’s plenty of reason to apply so if this job is what you’ve been looking don’t wait to get your application in.
