Circa £37,000 per annum (dependent on skills & experience)

Based location: Lincoln

Full-time and permanent, 37 hours per week

We have a great opportunity for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our busy Employee Relations team. Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, you will be based at our Enterprise House office but cover all of the Anglian Water region including our Hartlepool office therefore travel will be required. Due to the nature of this role, we operate a hybrid way of working between office and home. You will expect to work typically a minimum of three days on a site.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with both the business and the Employee Relations Team, you will provide them with support with managing a high volume of HR processes and procedures, helping to establish and embed a centre of excellence within our team.

You will be the first point of contact for general queries relating to policy and procedures, providing high quality advice and guidance. In addition, you will provide a professional ER case management service to ensure our business managers deal effectively with their people management issues, in both informal and formal processes, in areas such as absence management, investigations, disciplinaries, flexible working requests, grievances & performance capability. This means you will manage a dedicated case load through to a satisfactory completion and you will be interpreting and communicating company policy, whilst balancing best practice with the need to make the right business decisions.

With a focus on helping to develop FLM's knowledge, you will support and coach them to ensure people issues are managed and resolved effectively, as well as helping to build improved line management capability. In addition, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our policies and processes.

You will also take on a range of vital administrative duties to support the Employee Relations Manager.

A high level of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality will be required when advising the business on individual cases as well as high levels of resilience to deal with sensitive and challenging situations.

What do you need?

Ideally, you will have experience in a HR advisory role combined with a relevant professional HR qualification. You will also have:

  • The ability to prioritise with good planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience of working collaboratively and building effective working relationships at all levels
  • The ability to apply technical and professional expertise in a business context.
  • Evidence of being proficient in MS applications particularly Word & Excel
  • Ability to travel across the AW region

Up to date experience of Employment Law would also be an advantage as well as experience of providing timely advice/guidance to managers on ER process.
