Salary ranges from
· Grade K £32,029 - £34,788 plus 20% enhancement for unsocial hours
· AMHP Qualified Grade L £34,788 - £38,813 plus 20% enhancement for unsocial hours. This post also attracts an additional Market supplement of £2400 per annum pro rata
We currently have a full time permanent vacancy to join our generic Social Work team where you will provide support across both adults and children's services.
The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides an out of hours’ front line Social Care service for North Yorkshire County Council and the City of York and is based in County Hall, Northallerton. We are currently working from home in line with Government guidance in response to the current Coronavirus pandemic.
The principle responsibility of the EDT is to respond to out of hours requests where professional intervention from the Local Authority is required to make safe until the next working day. This can include safeguarding a vulnerable child or adult, Mental Health Act Assessment, Care Act Assessment.

If required we can offer you the training you need to become an Approved Mental Health Practitioner(AMHP).
We, like other teams, operate in an environment of transformational change and innovation. The team currently consists of 8 FTE social workers, one Team Manager and one Team Leader working to an 8 week rota pattern.
As a qualified experienced Social Worker you will have a broad and detailed knowledge of all statutory functions of Social Care and Health Services (including legislation, policy and procedures).
While on duty you will assess and prioritise incoming work ensuring that the appropriate response is made in line with policy and procedure and using your professional judgement. Working with complex situations that require thorough and robust risk assessments, crisis intervention and decision making. The core focus of this role is to be the single point of contact for the social care service of children, adults, young people and mental health, out of hours.
