MBA are proud to be partnering a start up organisation which is delivering cutting edge technology for the aerospace and defence industries. Based in central Manchester our client is looking for an Embedded System Engineer to join their technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of the future in aerospace and defence.
  
The role of Embedded Systems Engineer:
  • You will be leading defence related project and support other space-oriented projects.
  • Your key role is supporting the development of Adaptive Thermal Tiles (ATTs) technology and application opportunities in the defence sector, develop a design which is compatible with ash environmental conditions.
  • Working on electronic integration of multiple tiles to cover large areas.
  • Work with other material engineers, product development manager and co-founders 
  • Build direct customer and stakeholder relationships to assist in ensuring effective project delivery

Your skills and experiences to be an Embedded Systems Engineer:
  • Electronic engineering skills (Raspberry pies, PCBs, Microprocessors, general integration)
  • Familiarity with Electronics CAD software (schematics and PCB layout) and Object Oriented Programming
  • Be able to read through and understand analogue and digital circuits as well as electronic components and microcontroller datasheets.
  • Knowledge or experience of Python and/or C++ programming.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific / engineering discipline with proven industrial experience.
  • Unlimited permit to work in UK
  • Familiarity with industry standards
  • Familiarity with techniques for optical characterisation & measurement including visible, IR & microwaves
  • Be a good communicator and work well in a multicultural team with other engineers of other disciplines, asking questions and discussing your ideas when needed.
  • Being passionate and committed to producing a step change in the technology landscape by driving innovation and continuous improvement

It’s a small, but growing, team so you’ll need to be adaptable and willing to support the rapidly evolving needs of the business.  You’ll also need to be able to communicate well if you’re going to be able to resolve the conflicting priorities which are a routine feature of early stage businesses.
